<p>The 160th FS is the group's flying unit and has operated the F-16C since 1994, with a C-130H support. The 160th Fighter Squadron was formed in October 1947 with P-51Ds. The unit was redesignated the 160th TRS in September 1950 when called to active duty, converting to the RF-80A in May 1951. The 160th deployed to Europe in January 1952, operating from bases in Germany and France before returning to state control in July 1952 and re-equipping with the RF-51D. The squadron received RF-80s again in June 1955, with RF-84Fs assigned one year later. The unit was mobilized for a second time between October 1961 and August 1962, before joining the 187th TRG two months later. The squadron converted to the RF-4C in June 1971 and changed to the F-4D in July 1983, becoming the 160th TFS. The squadron converted to the F-16A in October 1988.
